Create Multiple Copies of HP Recovery Disks

I came across a post that describes how to create multiple recovery disk for the HP laptop owners and I'm sharing the same here with you. By default HP only allows users to create 1 recovery disk. However with this hack you can create multiple copies of recovery disk. The following hack only works if you have already create one set of recovery disks and want to create more. Those who are creating recovery disk for the first time this is not required by them.

You will need to download FreeCommander. It's a Windows Explorer like file manager.

On HP Pavilion dv6-2150us laptop
search for hpdrcu.prc on C drive and on D drive.
I found my files in
C:\ProgramData\Hewlett-Packard\Recovery\hpdrcu.prc
C:\Users\All Users\Hewlett-Packard\Recovery\hpdrcu.prc
D:\hpdrcu.prc

And deleted these files! Started the Recovery disk creation program again! It works!!

NOTE: This hack works on HP Windows XP laptops as well the file name is hpcd.sys instead of hpdrcu.prc.
